Your choice

Optional Matomo analytics are off until you select “Allow analytics”. No analytics script or tracking request is sent before that choice. Use “Analytics settings” in the footer to change your preference. Turning analytics off stops subsequent tracking; it does not erase visits already received.

The site stores your allow/off choice in your browser’s local storage under wei-analytics. This preference stays on your device until you change it or clear site data. It is not a tracking identifier.

If you allow analytics

Matomo is hosted at mana.ie/stats. It receives the page path and title, request time and ordinary browser/network information supplied with a request. The site disables Matomo tracking cookies, strips query strings and fragments from the tracked URL, clears the tracked referrer, and honours the browser’s Do Not Track signal. It does not send form entries or personal profile data. There are no accounts or enquiry forms in v1.

A network request necessarily exposes an IP address to the receiving server. Cookie-free analytics should not be understood as collecting no information. We make no claim here about provider-side retention or IP-masking settings that have not been independently verified.

Hosting and data updates

The web host may process ordinary access and error logs to serve and maintain the site. Energy and weather feeds are requested server-side from the published providers and cached. Your browser loads data and map files from wei.ie, without third-party map tiles or provider tracking scripts. External source links take you to independently operated sites with their own privacy practices.

Managing your browser data

You can turn optional analytics off below, clear the wei.ie local-storage preference in your browser, or enable Do Not Track. Blocking analytics does not affect the index, its data tables or downloads.
